ABOUT
Born and raised in Italy, Andrea Morricone is a composer and conductor known for his many film scores. With extensive experience in both, the conducting and composition fields, his portfolio includes all genres ranging from classical and contemporary to film scores and crossover songs.
Amongst his many compositions, one of his most famous is “The Love Theme” from Italian drama Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, whereon he collaborated with his father, Ennio Morricone, and for which they won a BAFTA Award.
Besides composing, Andrea has conducted many concerts across the globe from Los Angeles to Moscow, from London to Venezuela. He participated in a special performance during the Senate and Culture meeting in 2020, where his father received the Lifetime Achievement Award. For this memorable event Andrea conducted the music from the film Cinema Paradiso.
Throughout his career, Andrea collaborated with many major artists such as Sting, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban and Yo-Yo Ma, to name a few.
With more than 30 composed movie soundtracks, Andrea Morricone’s music can be heard in theatre, on television and on radio worldwide.
His artistic work was recognized by numerous national and international awards, including Globo d’Oro 2004-2005 for the movie Raul – Diritto di Uccidere, Globo d’Oro 2012 for the movie L’industriale and the Piuma d’Oro Award in Rome.
In 2015, Andrea Morricone collaborated with Andrea Bocelli, creating the theme song for that year’s World Expo in Milan, Italy. As a result of this collaboration, beautiful “La Forza Del Sorriso” was composed by Andrea Morricone and performed by Andrea Bocelli.
In 2020 Andrea Morricone was invited by the Spanish Royal Household to give a tribute concert for his father’s, Ennio Morricone, extraordinary career.
Andrea Morricone will be the principal conductor for “Ennio Morricone. The Official Concert Celebration” Tour, starting in November 2022.
